How to Win a Beauty Pageant

Every girl/boy who enters a beauty pageant has one goal in mind- winning. However, no matter how beautiful or talented each contestant is, there can only be one winner. So, you may be asking yourself the number one question.
What can I do to win a beauty pageant? To begin with, if you want to win a beauty pageant you will have to do your research and prepare for hard work.
Just being beautiful/good looking is not going to make you a winner. In fact, beauty pageants consist of more events then simple appearance alone. You must be prepared to present yourself as an eloquent and intelligent speaker, you must be poised, dignified, and showcase your talent with expertise. All of this requires hard work, determination, and practice. Training hard is essential to ensuring that you win your next beauty pageant. You will need to practice your public speaking skills, your specific talent, your walk, modeling stance, as well as work on your smile, hair and makeup for girls. It is a good idea to have a look at tapes of previous winners of the beauty pageants that you are competing in. This is a great way to see what qualities the judges are looking for in a winner. You will also need to have an enormous amount of self-discipline. Winning a beauty pageant requires that you are disciplined in every aspect of your life. You should consider the beauty pageant as if it were a marathon or an event that you were in training for. Discipline in your sleeping habits, exercise routine, and nutrition are essential to ensuring that you remain in prime condition. You must be committed to doing whatever it takes to win your next beauty pageant to see your dream come true.Make sure that you always behave appropriately and respectfully. This includes how you treat the other contestants, the judges, and the organizers of the contest. If you present yourself as having a horrible, snobby attitude you will find that it will work against you in the long run. Often times, people confuse self-confidence with arrogance. They are definitely two different things. Judges are looking for a woman/man who exudes grace as well as confidence, but a woman/man who presents herself as believing that she/he is better than everyone else and treats other people badly will never be successful.
It may seem easy to stand in front of thousands of people and simply smile your way to a crown. Well guess what-it's not. Wearing that sash means hard work and there's some real skill to learn if you ever want to wear that crown! But you don't need years of pageant training to win—plenty of beauty queens have won on their first try and you could too!
Judges are looking for character, poise, personality and most importantly, confidence. If you don't believe in yourself, you're not going to win. It's not about being the most gorgeous but coming out there and saying I'm fabulous. If you lack chutzpah, try these tactics to build more confidence. Make eye contact with your audience and especially the judges. Stand tall-no slouching. This is also a no-brainer trick to make your bust look bigger. Lastly, try to be relaxed and comfortable-even when you're onstage in your bikini!
Prior to a beauty pageant, there might be days of rehearsals learning dance numbers, press events and interviews with the judges. So you better be ready to give some impressive answers!Questions range from your background to what's happening in the world now so know your current events. You'd think they'd be easy to answer but it can be unnerving when you're in the hot seat and there's a line of judges staring back at you. When asked a question onstage, play to the audience with your answer. Try to make as much eye contact with the judges as possible, especially to the one that asked the question. The judges are looking for genuine and honest answers that are smart.
If you haven't already, get yourself up into the gym and get your fitness on. Let's face it-it's part of why we hate and love to watch pageants. You've got to be pretty with or without your clothes for these things. Hello…bikini competition! What matters is how they will look on you, how your outfit will look onstage and most importantly how comfortable you will be wearing it. Wardrobe color should compliment your complexion and hair color and play up your best assets. Be careful not to look too sexy. It's extremely important to have a fantastic walk. Why? Because when you're lined up shoulder to shoulder in a row of gorgeous gals, having a fantastic walk can make you pop out in a lineup. Before starting any pageant walk, make sure to take a deep breathe. Place your hands on your hips and begin your walk. When you strike your pose, pause for a tantalizing tease, then do your turn. The pose and turn can happen in the middle and at the end of a walk. Throw in a second turn if you're feeling extra sassy! And even as you end your walk, a true beauty queen continues to play to the judges so keep eye contact with them until your last step off stage
